Did this for a competition - Youth Activity Center - Results Pending...

Key Design Points:
-Create urban landmark (but show careful understanding of its surroundings)
-Introduce landscape into architecture
-Show modesty to nearby buildings
-Connect urban and natural landscape
-"3 Sides - 3 Faces" (3 bodies - Museum, Training, Theatre)
-Low Carbon (green) architecture
-Bring life to the community

Concept:
After studying the competition requirements, the conclusion was that a humble approach was needed for this site, the decision was that the site faces 1) the park to the southwest, 2) faces the city on the north and east side. which brings the concept of a "rolling hill" from the forest into the city, and from each of the 3 sides - by "slicing" into the landscape we create "3 facades" that contain the 3 main functions of the building - "Museum, Training and Theatre". Since the old site had a performance stage to the east, we decided thats where we situate the Theatre, and to the north it was the "urban community" we decided to situate the training facilities there, and creates a relationship to the children's library in the vicinity as well. and naturally, we set the museum to face the park/forests, and thus creating "museum in the forest".

So in the "big picture" we came to the conclusion we take 3 "lemons", place each lemon on each of the 3 sides, then "slice" the lemons along the site, and cover it with a "skin". by slicing into the "lemon", the intricacy of the building interior is revealed through the large glass walls.

FAQ: "why is there a giant hole in the middle"
This is explained here [link]
To create a rain water collection reservoir to provide a more sustainable approach to the design, at the same time, create a common public area for all 3 bodies of the architecture.
